Hello World!

Hello World! …And Jekyll!

There is no better way to start something, than with good, old Hello world.

So it begins…

It is the 9th of May 2025. I’m beginnig this blogging journey with a slight delay, but with full enthusiasm.

The Platform

My orginal idea was to selfhost a WordPress instance that would serve as my blogging platform. After I did some research, due to security reasons I have finally decided to utilize Static Site Generator - Jekyll. Maybe it is not as advanced and expandable as WP, but I do not need anything more at this point. One of its advantages is definitely security - just plain old html, css and images, served by webserver, nothing else.

I have always been playing with stuff… However I lacked the place where I could showcase it to the others, share my thoughts about it. Apart from that It is handy to have knowledge gathered up in one spot. That knowledge might one day help someone in their headache. At least that was true for me during my beginnings. Blog posts and Stack Overflow were valuable resources that supported my work in the past. I really like the idea that this way I can at least partially repay the debt of gratitude. I think thats it.
